Patented extraction and drying processes used to manufacture Rose-Hip Vital® isolate and activate a fatty acid/galactolipid (glycoside of mono and diglycerol), called GOPO®.
Some white blood cells in the body contain granulocytes which enable them to ‘clean’ an inflamed joint by destroying the bacteria in it. Too many of these white blood cells wear down tissue cartilage. In large numbers they can also produce chemical enzymes and toxic free-radicals which cause even more tissue damage. Accumulation of white blood cells combined with the release of chemical substances causes joint pain and inflammation. The more inflamed a joint becomes, the more the white blood cells are attracted to it – a painful cycle.
The active compound GOPO® discourages large numbers of white blood cells from accumulating in the joint, thereby breaking the cycle of joint inflammation and alleviating pain.
Rose-Hip Vital® with GOPO® is changing the lives of thousands of Australians, allowing them to keep doing the things they love.
A published review on the research supporting Rose-Hip Vital® with GOPO® by one of Australia’s foremost experts in complementary medicines says the studies found Rose-Hip Vital® with GOPO® to be safe and can be used alongside conventional treatments as well as potentially replacing or reducing the reliance on anti-inflammatory and other pain medication. “Research shows Rosehip doesn’t have the potential side effects of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and aspirin, and is suitable for people at increased risk from the gastrointestinal or cardiovascular side effects of NSAID.” Click here to read the review.

Rosehips have been used for centuries as an ingredient in skincare, as a feed supplement and more recently as a natural anti-inflammatory. So how do you know if a supplement can deliver on its promise? Science is the key. When evaluating science supporting a product, it’s important to ascertain the level of testing, with the most detailed level being double-blind placebo controlled clinical trials. These trials are published in independent peer-reviewed medical, pharmacology and health journals.
Rose-Hip Vital® with GOPO® is supported by over 30 scientific papers, including 9 double-blind placebo controlled clinical trials. Manufactured in Denmark by Hyben Vital, it is acknowledged as the leader in the field of Rosehip manufactured as a natural anti-inflammatory. The respected international researcher, Robin Christensen, author of Rosehip powder Meta-analysis – emphasises that it is only the Rosehip preparation manufactured by Hyben Vital, Denmark that has been the subject of testing in clinical trials.
Therapeutic claims for complementary therapies need to be supported by scientific evidence found in clinical trials. In order to make a claim, these trials must relate specifically to the product. Other rosehip products referring to Rose-Hip Vital® with GOPO® scientific data are not able to make the same claims as they do not use the same patented manufacturing processes.
A presentation by Joseph Schwager, Phd, at the APLAR conference Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology conference in Japan titled The Galactolipid GOPO® Mediates Beneficial Effects of Rose Hip on Arthritis by Reducing Chemokine and Interleukin Production in Macrophages and Chondrocytes, showed that an active compound, when isolated from the Rosehip, may play a role in assisting in the rebuilding and protection of cartilage.
The humble Rosehip is a superfood. A wholefood, a fruit, containing 8 naturally occurring vitamins (including C, E, B1 and B6) and 23 minerals (including iron, copper, zinc and magnesium), essential fatty acids (omegas 3, 6 and 9), antioxidants and flavonoids.
Rose-Hip Vital® with GOPO® contains pure and natural rosehips manufactured with patented extraction and drying processes. Nothing else is added.
The Rosehips are harvested from the Rosehip plant (Rosa Canina) farmed in the nutrient rich soils of Denmark. The roots penetrate deep into the ground, absorbing a vast array of potent natural vitamins and minerals ensuring the product is a rich source of natural nutrients. The farming process is pesticide free.
A highly specialised machine delivers a unique planting process by laying down plastic sheeting to insert young plants into the ground at precise intervals. Once planted, nature does all the amazing work with no artificial interference. Plants are left to mature for 3 to 4 years before harvesting. Not only does this give plants time to produce the best quality fruits, it also allows their amazing root system to dive deep into the ground (well below the ploughing level) where they can draw precious trace minerals from soil that has not been depleted by modern agricultural practices.
Distributed by Rose-Hip Vital Pty Ltd, Rose-Hip Vital® with GOPO® was first imported into Australia in 2002 and is now available in nearly all pharmacies and health food stores throughout the country. Rose-Hip Vital® with GOPO® Joint Health 150 capsules was launched in 2014 as a reduced daily dose option.
The boutique Australian owned family business located in Chatswood, New South Wales, is committed to supporting quality of life for people, dogs and horses, Rose-Hip Vital Pty Ltd deliver on their promise by providing only 100% pure and natural products made from patented rosehip powder imported from Denmark.
The manufacturer of Rose-Hip Vital®, Hyben Vital ApS, is another family-owned business located on the Danish Island of Langeland. In the early 1980′s, a Danish Osteoarthritis sufferer, Erik ‘Farmer’ Hansen was dissatisfied with the available forms of therapy. He was recommended to try rosehip marmalade, and impressed with the symptomatic relief, farmer Hansen refined the art of extracting and drying rosehips to produce a more potent extract.
Small scale production and distribution of dried rosehip powder began – and letters of appreciation from thousands of satisfied customers soon followed. What started on a few acres in the early 1980’s has grown into over 200 hectares with some 40 professional farmers in Denmark growing Rosehip full-time to keep up with the demand.
In 1995, Hansen’s son delivered some of the 5000 letters of recommendation his father received to an inflammation specialist based at Fredricksberg Hospital, University of Copenhagen in Denmark. Upon reviewing the feedback, in-vitro studies were instigated to assess the validity of the reported success at a formal scientific level, bringing impressive results supporting the high effectiveness of the rosehip preparation.
Thanks to many years of intensive research and development, the active compound GOPO® has since been identified, and the unique manufacturing methods used by Hyben Vitals ApS have been patented worldwide.
